The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time, salaried position to serve as a Fiscal Assistant for Project Hope.
Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families and groups most affected by Hurricane Sandy. Project Hope is funded by the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and is administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in conjunction with the RFMH. This position will be located in Albany, New York.

|Duties:||Duties of the Fiscal Assistant will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Review of provider submitted claims for accuracy, fidelity to approved budgets and to determine reimbursement amount.
Make recommendation on the payment of claims.
Post expenses to main databases of expenditure data.
Work with providers and/or county coordinators to resolve discrepancies in claims.
Work with the Fiscal Coordinator to identify problem areas and trends and to help develop solutions.
Assist in special studies of internal administrative management or fiscal controls.
Work cooperatively and effectively with other professional and senior management staff in the OMH and RFMH Central Offices.
A Bachelors degree in an appropriate field (e.g. business management, accounting, finance).
2-3 years experience in processing claims.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including, Excel, Word and Access.
Solid organizational and communication skills.
Fluency in the English language.
The ability to work independently is essential.
Prior experience with Crisis Counseling grants from FEMA
Knowledge of public finance in New York State
