The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking to fill two (2) full-time salaried positions to serve as Project Specialist (Generalist) for Project Hope.
Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families, and groups most affected by Hurricane Sandy. Project Hope is funded by the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and is administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in conjunction with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the RFMH. These positions will be located in the Bureau of Mental Health at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The incumbents will report to the Deputy Director, NYC Project Hope. This is a grant-funded position with an anticipated total duration of less than one (1) year.

|Duties:|| Provide technical assistance and program oversight to CCP contracted service providers
Provide quality assurance for program development and implementation by CCP contracted service providers
Ensure agency deliverables are met within timelines specified in the grant
Implement efforts to ensure enhanced collaboration between the CCP contracted service provider agencies and stakeholder community-based organizations serving New York City communities
Prepare/write reports for DOHMH leadership
Perform other duties as assigned
|Qualifications:||Minimum Requirements/Preferred Skills:
A PhD in Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or other relevant doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, and (1) or more years relevant work experience; or
A Masters Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or other relevant graduate degree from an accredited college or university, and (3) or more years relevant work experience; or
A Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, or other relevant degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) or more years relevant work experience.
Prior contract and program management experience in a setting that delivers mental hygiene and/or work in a disaster of similar scale
Prior experience with counseling preferred
Prior experience in community outreach and building
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations, as well as honor contributions and strengths of all cultures
Able to meet tight deadlines and work in an unpredictable environment
Willingness to work non-traditional hours and attend evening and weekend meetings
Ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently and deliver written products in a timely manner
Strong research, analytical, writing and editing skills
Excellent oral, and organizational skills
