|Description:||Hourly Project Technician for a 2-year clinical research study. This study looks to see if targeting cognitive deficits can improve cognition and vocational outcome in homeless youth.|
|Duties:||The Project Technician will be primarily responsible for conducting and scoring baseline and follow-up assessments, including diagnostic clinical interviewing and neurocognitive testing with young adults ages 18 to 22. Other responsibilities will include assisting with subject recruitment and subject screening, and performing administrative duties pertaining to data and grant management.
The majority of research activities will be carried out at a Manhattan midtown based organization. Training and supervision on assessment will be provided on-site and at the NYS Psychiatric Institute.
|Qualifications:||Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with at least one year experience in an appropriate field; prefer Master's degree in an appropriate field. Applicants should be familiar with the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV and have experience administering and scoring neuropsychological testing (e.g. WAIS, WMS).
Applicants must have a flexible schedule to accommodate 8-12 hours per week, with evenings available to conduct assessments.
This position involves regular and substantial contact with children. The successful candidate will be screened through the New York State Central Child Abuse Register prior to assuming any duties that will involve contact with children. There is a $25.00 fee for this service which must be paid by the successful candidate.
