Description:NYC Project Hope Data Analyst Salary: Grade 25 Salary: $70,931 Location Pay: $3,026 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking to fill one (1) full-time salaried position to serve as Data Analyst for Project Hope. Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families, and groups most affected by Hurricane Sandy. Project Hope is funded by the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and is administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in conjunction with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the RFMH. This position will be located in the Bureau of Mental Health at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The incumbent will report to the Director, NYC Project Hope. This is a grant-funded position. The initial grant period will run through December 29, 2012, with an anticipated total duration of one (1) year. Duties:Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Track and analyze Project Hope data to summarize and monitor the number of individuals and groups serviced; including monitoring characteristics of individuals, services provided, and identify potential service areas for coverage and data quality improvement • Provide timely summary analyses of the NYC Project Hope data and interpret findings on the number of individuals and group encounters, the characteristics of individuals/groups served, as well as characteristics of the encounters by contracted agencies and overall • Work closely with program leadership and staff to analyze program-level data and offer ongoing recommendations for improving program implementation • Develop and prepare ongoing reports and presentations for internal program monitoring and for DOHMH leadership and program funder • Conduct related literature reviews for programmatic purposes • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Minimum Requirements/ Preferred Skills: • A PhD in Social work, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Administration, or other relevant doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, and (1) or more years work experience in data collection, interpretation and reporting in a public health or clinical setting • A Master’s Degree in Social work, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Administration, or other relevant graduate degree from an accredited college or university, and (3) or more years work experience in data collection, interpretation and reporting in a public health or clinical setting • Excellent time management, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills • Able to meet tight deadlines and work in an unpredictable environment • Strong computer skills with a proficiency using SAS and Microsoft Office • Excellent written, oral and organizational skills
