Description:Assistant Project Director (APD) will assist the Assistant Director of the Columbia Addiction Services and Psychotherapy Intervention Research (CASPIR) in coordinating the day-to-day operations on several studies. APD will be a licensed mental health clinician who will facilitate the enrollment, scheduling, and retention of study participants.
Duties:APD will conduct screening of potential participants by telephone, review elements of informed consent, assess participants’ eligibility for studies based on clinical presentation, and provide an in-depth clinical assessment when necessary for referrals to higher levels of care. APD will also contribute as needed to other aspects of the study, including preparation of research presentations and manuscripts, reports to primary funders (e.g., NIAAA) and the Institutional Review Board for human subjects safety. APD will be required to perform administrative duties related to the study, such as processing invoices related to study costs and coordinating with internal support departments as needed. In addition to general research and administrative duties, APD will also provide psychotherapy to study participants according to study protocols, as a part of randomized controlled trials and will carry a caseload of up to 10 participants at a time.
Qualifications:Minimum of a master’s degree in psychology or social work or equivalent. Must be a licensed mental health practitioner in the state of New York. Must be detail oriented and well organized.
