| Description: | The New York State Center of Excellence for Cultural Competence (NYS-CECC) at the New York State Psychiatric Institute is looking to hire a research Assistant to conduct and coordinate the administrative tasks of multiple research projects and assist in the implementation of research protocols. This position reports to NYS-CECC Program Manager and Assistant Director.

| Duties: | The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the NYS-CECC daily activities. He/She will coordinate a complex calendar of activities including multiple busy schedules, order supplies, assist in grant preparation and general administrative management of projects’ activities.
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to recruitment of research participants, scheduling research activities, conducting data collection (e.g. screenings, interviews, focus groups) and data entry, searching peer reviewed articles from scholarly journals, and transcription of interview/focus groups. The assistant will also liaise with local and national consultants, make travel arrangements, and facilitate reimbursement.

| Qualifications: | Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or at least three years of related experience, or comparable education, training, and experience preferred.
The applicant must have the ability to multi-task, maintain attention to detail in a busy work environment, and work independently under minimal supervision.
Experience working with budgets, federal grants, and or grant management is highly desirable. Experience working with Word, Excel, Access, or other database applications is essential. The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including academics, clinicians, community members, as well as consumers of mental health services and their families. A bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferable.
